You are not alone.
You are 1 of Many for a Commonsense Commonwealth.
The Democratic Party in Arlington is pleased to present the following activities, in cooperation with the Virginia Democratic Women’s Caucus (8CD), Together We Will NOVA (the action arm of Pantsuit Nation), Our Revolution-Arlington, the Virginia Chapter of the Women’s March on Washington, and the Arlington Young Democrats.
Schedule of Events (please check back for updates)
Friday, January 20th — Poster Making Party
- Join a festive evening of poster making! Posters will be used by volunteers during the Women’s March on Washington the next day. This is a great activity for those interested in supporting the March but who cannot participate for whatever reason. Marchers also are welcome to make their own posters!
Saturday, January 21st — Women’s March on Washington
- Send a bold message to the new Administration on its first day in office by joining fellow Democrats in the Women’s March on Washington! Walk together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families — recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our Commonwealth and our country. Marchers may choose to carry signs, shout through megaphones, walk in silence as a member of The Bricksters, or otherwise express their views in a peaceful manner. Posters, megaphones, and BrickxBrick suits will be available to borrow (while supplies last).
Sunday, January 22nd — Commonsense Commonwealth Rally & Brunch
- Come together in fellowship with like-minded Virginians committed to sustaining a Commonsense Commonwealth through civic engagement and political activism. This uplifting event will feature delicious food, positive messages from local leaders, and great music from local bands. In particular, we are excited to welcome BOTH candidates for Virginia Governor — Ralph Northam and Tom Perriello — as keynote speakers! The event also will feature a Democratic Call to Action, with remarks from co-founder of The Indivisible Guide, Leah Greenberg!
We will post information concerning the “1 of Many” Weekend of Action events to the social media accounts of the Arlington County Democratic Committee. We encourage you to share those posts within your network. Be sure to include the hashtags #1ofMany and #CommonsenseCommonwealth !
