Democratic Values in Action (DVA), the charitable arm of ACDC, has a new chair. Kim Klingler has taken over from Charley Conrad and is now forming a committee to expand the outreach of Arlington Democrats into new areas.
Kim invites anyone who is interested in involving DVA in more and helpful activities, to join her new planning committee. Contact Kim at at hellofromk2@gmail.com or 703-489-7408.
Kim has been active for many years in Arlington YDs, ACDC and the community at large. She ran in the January caucus as a candidate for the nomination to succeed Barbara Favola on the County Board.
DVA’s monthly cereal and food donations will continue, so please keep bringing, cereal, canned food and other dry goods for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). Donations are accepted at the monthly ACDC meeting and the Second Saturday Breakfast. Cereal is DVA’s single most important contribution to AFAC.
DVA is also collecting gently used men’s long pants and long sleeve work shirts, work gloves, work hats, bath towels and washcloths for the Arlington Street People Assistance Network (ASPAN).
In addition, Arlington Doorways for Women and Families is seeking donations of the following items: Pull-Ups Disposable Diapers (size 2T-5T); paper towels; toilet paper; and Safeway and Giant gift cards.
