Press Release: ACDC Closes Out Gold Card Season on a High Note

Arlington, VA – October 22, 2017 — Arlington County Democratic Committee wrapped up the last of its Gold Card events, the Golden Gala, with special guests Jim Moran (former U.S. Representative, 8th District) and Rip Sullivan (House of Delegates Representative, 48th District). Also in attendance were a wide array of elected representatives and candidates for the House of Delegates, Erik Gutshall for County Board, and Monique O’Grady for School Board.

In addition to the always delicious food prepared by the famous Kitchen Crew, it was an opportunity to assess how the Democratic message is resonating in anticipation of the major state election on November 7. In his comments, Representative Jim Moran congratulated Arlington for its commitment to Democratic values and made clear that as Democrats “we give power to the powerless,” we are about “truth, justice, and inclusiveness,” and “If you are here, you are part of this community; we need you, we want you, and we value you.”

Kip Malinosky, Chair of the ACDC said, “We in Arlington are working hard to ensure as many citizens as possible vote. The Democratic ticket is united in acting on the values of truth, justice and inclusiveness by creating jobs, raising wages, expanding health care, and protecting the environment. Already we are seeing record absentee-in-person voting turnout for a non-presidential election, we encourage everyone to be a voter and a Democratic voter by or on November 7.”
