The House of Delegates, where I've served since 1998, is still in the grip of right- wing Republicans. At every turn, they've fought the common sense initiatives of Governors Warner and Kaine, in order to advance their narrow ideological agenda and push their divisive social issues. Right now, Democrats are just 6 seats away from taking the majority in the House next November. My efforts, and my colleagues', are all aimed at that vital goal. We're recruiting top-notch candidates across the state and building the team we'll need to win. And keep this in mind: the party that gains 51 seats in the House in 2009 will control how legislative districts are drawn for the next decade-so Virginia's future is really at stake next year! My special guest will be House Democratic Leader Ward Armstrong of Martinsville who will brief us on on the Roadmap to a Democratic House Majority and tell you what you can do to help turn the House blue.
