- Resolution on Constitutional Amendments A resolution endorsing the three amendments to the Virginia Constitution that are up for approval on the November 2010 ballot. These amendments address property tax relief for homeowners over 65 and for disabled homeowners. Another Constitutional amendment would raise the maximum size of Virginia’s “rainy day” fund from 10% to 15% of the state’s average tax revenues.

- Resolution on Offshore Drilling in Virginia and the Gulf Oil Spill - July 7, 2010 BE IT RESOLVED by the Arlington County Democratic Committee on July 7, that: 1. ACDC expresses its sympathies to the workers and families who were killed or wounded in the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion. 2. ACDC deplores the resulting environmental and economic damage to the Gulf region and the disruption to the lives and livelihood of Gulf residents. 3. ACDC commends President Obama for cancelling the proposed lease sale of the federal waters off the coast of Virginia and urges our elected representatives to continue a moratorium on any such oil and gas drilling off the coast of Virginia.
- Resolution on the Restoration of Rights - May 5, 2010 Be it resolved, that on May 5, 2010, the Arlington County Democratic Committee: (1) Calls upon Governor McDonnell — as a first step — to restore the prior procedures utilized by then Governors Warner and Kaine for the restoration of rights to former felons, and (2) Recommends that as a long term solution, Virginia’s Constitution be amended to remove discretion from the restoration of civil rights, and (3) Urges continued scrutiny of the process to identify any undue delays or racial disparate treatment in the processing of restoration of rights applications.
- Resolution on Reproductive Rights in Virginia - September 1, 2010 Be it resolved by the Arlington County Democratic Committee on September 1, 2010, that 1) we urge the Board of Health to avoid taking actions that would create serious impediments to women’s right to receive first trimester abortions in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and 2) we condemn Attorney General Cuccinelli for attempting to bypass the decision of the General Assembly and impose additional, counterproductive regulations on abortion clinics that could detrimentally impact a woman’s right to choose.
- Resolution Saluting the Career of Senator Mary Margaret Whipple - March 2, 2011 BE IT RESOLVED, by the Arlington County Democratic Committee on March 2, 2011, that: 1. ACDC congratulates and thanks Senator Mary Margaret Whipple for her outstanding leadership and service to ACDC, the Arlington community, and the Commonwealth of Virginia, and 2. ACDC sends its best wishes to Senator Whipple as she enjoys her retirement.
- Resolution Saluting Senator Patsy Ticer - March 2, 2011 BE IT RESOLVED, by the Arlington County Democratic Committee on March 2, 2011, that: 1. ACDC congratulates and thanks Senator Patsy Ticer for her outstanding leadership and service to ACDC, the Arlington community, and the Commonwealth of Virginia, and especially to the youth of our community. 2. ACDC sends its best wishes to Senator Ticer as she enjoys her retirement from the Virginia Senate and continues her lifetime of volunteering to make life better for the people of Northern Virginia.
