Proposed Call for a Caucus to
Elect Precinct Representatives
of the
Arlington County
Democratic Committee
Precinct Representative Filing Form
The Arlington County Democratic Committee (ACDC) hereby calls a caucus on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at 700 p.m. at the NRECA Conference Center, 4301 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA, for the purpose of electing precinct representatives of the ACDC. No individual shall be eligible for election by the participants of the caucus whose name has not been filed with the Chairperson for the Arlington County Democratic Committee, Peter Rousselot, or his designated representative, at ACDC Headquarters, 2009 14th Street N, Suite 612, Arlington, VA 22201, by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2007.
In order to certify the eligibility of a candidate for election, the Chairperson shall ascertain that he or she is a resident of and registered to vote in the precinct in Arlington County, Virginia, for which he or she seeks election; is a Democrat; does not intend to support, endorse, or assist any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee or endorsee; and is not a member of any other political party. A non-refundable filing fee payable to ACDC of $25 must accompany all candidate filings. The fee may be waived upon written request. There shall be two representatives from each electoral precinct in Arlington County except that each of the fourteen precincts which ranked highest in total number of votes cast for the Democratic candidate for Governor in the 2005 General Election shall have one additional representative.
Any Arlington voter who certifies that: 1) he or she is a resident of and registered to vote in the precinct in Arlington County, Virginia; 2) is a Democrat; 3) does not intend to support, endorse, or assist any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee or endorsee; and 4) is not a member of any other political party may participate in the caucus. Participants may vote only for the precinct representatives from the precinct in which they reside.
Only precinct representatives who have filed and are elected at this caucus will be eligible to vote for the officers of the Arlington County Democratic Committee at its January 2, 2008, meeting.
The 14 precincts with the highest number of votes cast in the 2005 General Election for Tim Kaine for Governor are: Aston Heights (1,019), Woodlawn (1,309), Madison (1,131), Jefferson (977), Lexington (1,101), Marshall (1,132), Rock Spring (1,111), Thrifton (1,018), Dominion Hills (1,084), Oakland (1,071), Cherrydale (989), Overlee Knolls (1,049), Hume (977), and Nottingham (971).
