Mail-In Voting

The deadline to request a mail ballot for this Special Election was Friday, January 30. If you are on the permanent absentee voting list and live in SD-39, you will still receive a ballot. If you did not request a ballot by the deadline and won't be able to vote on Tuesday, February 10, please make arrangements to vote early in person.

If you plan to use a mail ballot, we highly recommend returning it to an open drop box or voting location instead of mailing it! This election has a tight turnaround time, and between the winter weather and recent changes to Postal Service postmarking policies, it is much more reliable to return it in person!

  • Returning you mail ballot: Your ballot must be postmarked by Feb 10 and received by 12:00 PM, Feb 13.

  • Drop Box Locations

    • Aurora Hills & Courthouse Plaza: Jan 26 – Feb 10, closes 7:00 PM on Feb 10

    • Walter Reed: Jan 31 – Feb 7, closes 5:00 PM on Feb 7 (limited hours)

    • Aurora Hills drop box is located within SD-39. Courthouse and Walter Reed are early voting locations.
