Arlington Democrats Announce Two School Board Candidates File for Party Endorsement


Arlington Democrats Will Vote to Endorse One Candidate in May with Online, In-Person Countywide Voting


ARLINGTON, VA – Today, the Arlington Democrats announced that two candidates for the Arlington County School Board have filed for the committee’s endorsement. In May, Arlington Democrats will endorse one of the two candidates running to fill one vacancy on the School Board. Any registered Arlington voter will be allowed to participate in the committee’s endorsement vote after pledging to be a Democrat and to support all endorsed candidates in the General Election. Voters who turn 18 on or before the November 4, 2025 General Election will be allowed to participate in this endorsement process.


Below are the candidates who filed for the Arlington Democrats’ endorsement in alphabetical order:


“Arlington values public education and strong School Board leaders who will protect our students and educators from the harmful agenda of the Trump administration,” said Arlington Democrats Chair Steve Baker. “We’re excited to have two exceptional candidates running for School Board. I’m confident Arlington Democrats will endorse a great candidate who will stand up to the attacks on our schools and ensure every student in Arlington has access to a safe, high-quality education.”


Arlington Democrats will hold two in-person voting days in different parts of the county on the following dates: 


  • Sunday, May 4, 2025: from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Washington-Liberty High School (1301 N Stafford St, Arlington, VA 22201).

  • Saturday, May 10, 2025: from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School (3500 23rd St S, Arlington, VA 22206)


Arlington Democrats will also allow online voting in its 2025 endorsement process from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Voters have until Thursday, May 8, 2025 to request an electronic ballot.
