ARLINGTON, Va. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026 — The Arlington County Democratic Committee (“Arlington Democrats”) congratulates Senator-elect Elizabeth Bennett-Parker on her election to represent the 39th District in the Virginia Senate.

Tonight’s resounding results—winning more than 83 percent of the vote in Arlington, a margin of victory exceeding 66 percent—affirm Arlington voters’ commitment to strong, values-driven leadership and ensures continued Democratic representation for the 39th Senate District. Arlington Democrats are proud to stand with Senator-elect Bennett-Parker and look forward to working with her to deliver results for Arlington families.

The Committee expresses its sincere appreciation to Senator Adam Ebbin for his decades of service to Arlington and the Commonwealth. Senator Ebbin’s leadership is grounded in equality, opportunity and effective governance. His work will continue to shape public policy in Richmond as part of Governor Spanberger’s administration.

“Tonight’s outcome reflects the strength of Arlington’s Democratic community,” said Arlington Democrats Chair Paul Ruiz. “Voters showed up, volunteers stepped up, and together we protected a seat that matters deeply to our county and our values.”

Arlington Democrats also thank the volunteers, election officials, and campaign staff who worked quickly to ensure a successful special election within a month’s time.

Arlington Democrats now turn its focus to supporting Senator-elect Bennett-Parker as she continues her service in the General Assembly and to organizing for the critical April 21 redistricting referendum in Virginia.
